Founded by husband and wife team, Casiana and Jordi, in the Pyrenean mountains of Catalunya, Grapat is a small family project that materialized from the journey of leaving the city to live in a more natural environment. Their motivation came from watching their young daughter play with the unstructured treasures that nature had to offer.
Inspired by the Waldorf pedagogy, Grapat's philosophy of natural, simple play is based on providing children with few basic items allowing them to create their own games and imaginary worlds.
Grapat is not only incredibly beautiful, but perfect for those wanting to start or expand their open-ended toy collection. Their popular loose parts range is proven to be incredibly versatile; from colour sorting and pattern matching to being used as kitchen play food and resources to teach math.
Ignite your child's imagination with Grapat.
Store in a dry place. If necessary, wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. The pieces should not be submerged in water nor should disinfectant be used.
Sometimes it can happen that by an excess of pigments some pieces can loses some colour when coming in contact with saliva. This is not a problem as they are absolutely safe and non-toxic.
The finishes are made with waxes and oils of vegetable origin. The oils can have a strong aroma at first, but it loses it with the days. Enjoy the smell!
If small marks appear in the pieces over time it will mean that the material has fulfilled its function of play, and from here we celebrate it. We ourselves have wrinkles and marks of life with the passage of time, this is life itself.
